<p>Practice-theory workshop exploring the fundamentals of your practice and finding ways to articulate this in words, images and methodologies. A collaborative, creative and discursive day with Jane Turner.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: normal;">Digital Business &#8211; exploring business models, opportunities and communication strategies in on-line activities with Sinead MacManus of <a href="http://www.eightfold.org" target="_blank">8fold</a>.</span></p>
<p><strong>Thursday 9<sup>th</sup> June 10-4</strong></p>
<p>Exploring sensor technologies in developing new composition, resulting in a performance sharing. Led by Jane Turner with composers/music technologists Richard Hoadley and Tom Hall.</p>
<p><strong>Course cost:  £100  (places subsidised for BA  Performing Arts London Met graduates)</strong></p>
<p>(The course fee will be refunded for participants who go on to enrol on the PG Certificate course within 3 months).</p>

The event was well attended by artists and practitioners from across the performing arts industry including dancers, choreographers, entrepreneurs, costume designers amongst others.</p>
<p>The evening started with a presentation about the Performance Innovations course from Jane Turner with input from partner Sinead Mac Manus and other university staff.</p>

<h3>Are you thinking of setting up a company or similar?</h3>
<p>The <strong>Performance Innovations course</strong> will offer participants enterprise, business, creative and work-based training and development opportunities that respond to individual practices, plans and visions. The course will be taught by a team of highly experienced professional practioners and will engage with the 21st century themes of technology, enterprise and diversity.</p>
<p>Commencing in March 2010 and delivered over 2 terms through intensive blocks, online and individual supported practice it will involve: articulating your vision, refining your practice, performance technologies, placement and industry engagement, setting up a website, e-marketing, fundraising and performance. Students will have access to the full range of facilities at the University including rehearsal space, library and study facilities and the digilab.</p>
<p>On completion of the course participants will be awarded a Postgraduate Certificate. We anticipate the cost of the course will be £1,500. There may be an option to take modules individually as well.</p>
<h3>Interested?</h3>
<p>We will be holding a seminar/information evening in January  to answer any questions about the Performance Innovations course and explain how the course can work for you.</p>
<p>The event will take place at at London Metropolitian University on Monday, 18th January 2010. The event will commence at 6pm and finish at 8pm.</p>
